The Editor-in-Chief is: Ron Soffer, Partner.

Terms and conditions

Acceptance by the User

In using the Website, each physical person (hereinafter the "User") accepts the Website’s conditions of use, i.e. the Legal Information (accessible here), the Privacy Statements (accessible here) and these Terms and Conditions, and agrees to be bound by them without any conditions, limitations, and/or modifications. In the event of amendments or updates, these Terms and Conditions shall be uploaded onto the Website, indicating the latest update. The User shall regularly check the Website to remain informed of any change or update made to the Website’s Terms and Conditions.

Copyright

The Website and any work and material composing the Website, in particular any text, article, newsletter, press release, presentation, brochure, illustration, photograph, software, digital animation, drawing, logo etc., are and remain the exclusive property of the Law Firm.
Users cannot reproduce, represent, display, modify, adapt and/or translate, whether in part or in whole and whether for free or for financial consideration, the Website and/or any work and material composing the Website, and cannot reproduce, represent, display such translation, modification, adaptation, whether in part or in whole, whether for free or for financial consideration, without the prior and written consent of the Law Firm
As an exception to the foregoing, the Law Firm grants to Users the right to download on their personal computer the newsletters and any other documents, property of the Law Firm, which are made available to the Users, in a computer file form, for the express purpose of being downloaded by the Users. With regard to these files, and subject to specific provisions indicated on these documents, Users are allowed to keep a copy of the files downloaded, to print these documents and to share them so long as no modification is made to them.
Any quotation (courte citation) shall necessarily reproduce the title of the document or of the Website where the document is made available, the name of the author and, as appropriate, its date of publication and number.

Hypertext links

The Firm ensures that the Website contains no hyperlink giving direct or indirect access to websites or website pages whose content is contrary to the essential principles of the legal practice, and takes all measures necessary to delete them if such website should be deemed as contrary to the essential precepts of the legal practice. The Firm cannot, however, commit its legal liability beyond this ethical obligation.

Other provisions

The Website is strictly limited to personal use by the Users.
The Website and any documents, information and data provided therein are intended to provide non-exhaustive, general information relating to the Law Firm and its areas of business, and cannot be regarded or interpreted as providing legal advice and/or as a canvassing, a solicitation and/or an offer of services.
Users are solely liable for any use of the information contained therein and the Law Firm shall not be held responsible for any damages, direct, indirect or otherwise, arising from the use of the information provided on the Website by the Users.
The Law Firm does not warrant the access to the Website without interruption, nor that it is virus-free.
The Law Firm shall not be held liable for damages resulting from fraudulent access by a third party leading to changes in information broadcast on the Website.

 

Privacy Policy

General Provisions

In using the website (hereinafter “the Website”) of the Law Firm, you accept the collection and processing of your personal data (hereinafter the “Personal Data” or “Data”) as indicated in this Privacy Policy. In the event of amendments or updates, the updated Privacy Policy shall be uploaded onto the Website, indicating the date of the latest update. You must therefore regularly check the Website to remain informed of any change or update made to the Law Firm’s Privacy Policy.

Your Personal Data collected via the Website is processed by the Firm as data controller.

The Soffer Avocats firm has chosen not to use a contact form. Therefore, no data is collected, saved or processed on the website. When you click the “Contact” or “Submit your application” button, you will be redirected to your mailbox in order to send us your message directly with full consent.

The Firm is highly attentive to respecting your private life and the confidentiality of your personal data. It therefore commits to processing your Personal Data shared in the strictest application of the applicable rules and regulations, in particular Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on Information Technology, data files and civil liberties (hereinafter the "IT Law"), and EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and European Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter "the Regulation").

1. Data collected

Your Data may be collected only when you send an mail to the Law Firm.

2. End purpose

Your Data is collected and processed to :
• Provide services or information you request,
• Answer your questions and requests,
• Ensure the processing of applications for a position or an internship.

Such processing serves the legitimate legal interests of the Firm.

Additionally, your data may be processed to:
• Ensure the proper functioning and security of the Website, improve its functioning and adapt it to your requests,
• Carry out anonymous statistical analyses.

Such processing serves the legitimate interests of the Firm as regards the proper functioning and security of the Website, and assess its audience.

The Firm may also use your Data for communication purposes to send out newsletters, information and invitations to events and conferences.
Such processing serves the legitimate interests of the Firm, for the development of its relationships with clients, prospective clients, and partners.

The Firm keeps Personal Data only for the time necessary for the processing in place. The Firm can also keep your Personal data for a longer time as part of its legal obligations.
As regards Personal Data used for communication purposes, they are kept on file for three (3) years from the time of data collection or your last contact with the Firm.

3. Exercising your rights

In line with applicable law, you have the right to request access to and rectification of your Data, meaning you may ask for rectification, addition to, update or erasure of your Personal Data that is inaccurate, incomplete or obsolete. You also have the right to request restriction or to object to processing of your Personal Data for legitimate reasons.
You may also, at any time and without giving reason, oppose the processing of your Data for communication purposes.

4. Data Recipients

The Personal Data collected is reserved for the exclusive use of the Firm and cannot be communicated to third parties, except the Firm's subcontractors. The Firm may share your Personal Data with its offices located outside the European Union (see list on the Firm's website www.sofferavocats.com/en) for communication purposes. In this context, transfers of Personal Data are governed by a data transfer contract based on the European Commission's standard Contractual Clauses.

What are cookies?

When you connect to the Website, and in browsing the Website, you accept that the Website uses cookies to improve its functionalities and performance.

1. Open Internet Explorer, click “Internet properties”. On the General tab, click “Delete” under Browsing History in the Internet Properties dialogue box.
2. In the “Delete Browsing History” dialogue box, tick the "Cookies and website data" check box, and click “Delete”.

In Firefox:

To set your browser to block cookies:
1. Open Firefox, click “Tools”, and then choose “Options”.
2. In the Privacy panel, in history options, set “Firefox will” to “Use custom settings for history”.
3. Tick “Accept cookies” from sites to enable Cookies, and untick it to disable them.
4. Tick for how long cookies may be stored:
• Keep until they expire: Each cookie will be removed when it reaches its expiration date, which is set by the site that sent the cookie.
• Keep until I close Firefox: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox is closed.
• Keep until Ask me every time: Displays an alert every time a website tries to send a cookie, and asks you whether or not you want to store it.
